The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools,-ASUSS, Ondo State Council Comrade Tajudeen Balogun, on behalf of the Union has Felicitated with their fellow Workers across the state. Speaking with the Exponent Magazine News today in Akure, the Chairman said that May Day celebration is a gain to the rights of Nigerian workers, because the Country had passed through a lot of issues and at the same time they the workers had contributed their own quota to the development of the economy of the State and the country at large.

He lamented about the little minimum wages being paid to the workers which according to him, can not take the workers home. In other words, the Chairman believed that the minimum wage that is being paid to the workers is not enough to cater for the needs of the workers.

He said Federal Government paid a peculiar allowance or increment to some of her workers across the states and however, called on the State Governors in all the states of the federation to domesticate such perculiar allowance or increment in their states for the benefit of the  workers.

He also said the workers are looking forward to see that the incoming President elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should continue to be worker’s friendly, as he used to be when he was Governor of Lagos State.
Also, the Chairman congratulated all his fellow workers once again for witnessing this year 2023 workers celebration and prayed to God for guidance and protection for them to witness more years in life .
Highlight of the events include match Pass by the various Union groups, musical interlude supplied by the men of the Nigerian Police band and the cultural troop from the Ondo State award winning Cultural group.
