FGGC AKURE: We Stand On Zero Tolerance For Exam Malpractice

The Director Principal of Federal Government Girls College Akure, Mrs Lawal, A.I said the College Authorities still mentained their stand on zero tolerance for Examination Malpractice. She said this during the meeting of the Parent -Teacher Association held on Saturday 17th June, 2023 at the College Multipurpose Hall. The Director Principal said “the academic matters of the college remains at the core of our focus ,as we strive to provide our students with holistic Education”.
In another development, Mrs Lawal, said the College would not tolerate any form of examination malpractice from any students as this remains unwavering. Her words ” It will interest you to know that our stand on Zero Tolerance for Examination Malpractice remains unwavering . We implore all Parents to emphasize the significance of integrity and hard work to their children. The School Management will not hesitate to take appropriate disciplinary action against any Student involved in such misconduct”.
On discipline, the Director Principal said the disciplinary tone in the College is commendable. She however, appealed to the Parents to stop given their ward any form of contraband to the school as such would be confiscated and destroyed . In her words ” recently, some of them were caught with cell phones which is contraband . The Management took necessary action by following the Federal Ministry of Education Guidelines on Offences and Punishment by confiscating them .
I will like all parents to note that the College Management will not take any action that is contrary to the directives of the Federal Ministry of Education” . She asked the Parents to warn their Ward as the school would not hesitate to deboard any students caught in the act of indiscipline .
Also, the Principal uses the forum to intimate the parents about the performance of the students in the external Co-curricular activities which have continued to thrive. She said the students participated in the 2022 1st and 2nd Edition of Globe Competition held at FGC Keffi Nasarawa State and they came 2nd Position in both activities.
In 2022 1st Lego League Robotic Competition at Abuja , the college came 2nd Position . And in 2023 African Code Challenge Competition at Abuja, the school came 3rd Position.While in 2023 kids Talent Initiative Competition held at FUTA in Akure ,they came 1st Position in Quiz.
She also, talked about the challenges and needs of the College to include inadequate number of the Teachers in some subjects like Mathematics , Technical Drawing, Igbo Language, IRS and Visual Art. She said the College need building of more Hostels to catered for the students population and Proper waste management and disposal system are also needed .
She appreciated all Parents for their continous supports , dedication , and trust in the institution. She said that ” together we can create a child-friendly environment where our students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
