The lifting of the ban was announced in a press statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Monday.

The statement partly read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, have finalised a historic agreement, which has resulted in the immediate cessation of the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers.”

Accordingly, citizens have begun to react on the development.

Here are some of their reactions:

On X, formerly Twitter, Toju Onaiwu said, “This is good news. Good thing is an arrangement to forestall future occurrence of this impasse is being concretised. Also, the plan for more UAE investments in Nigeria. Nice work.”

Abba Akhuwa also reacted, saying, “Unsolved domestic and foreign issues Tinubu government inherited will make it difficult for this present administration to navigate through and win the trust of Nigerians. This is one major step.”

However, Mikael C Bernard, commented, “Landmark deal bawo. What’s the difference between what he did and what Buhari did? If una like, no release their funds on time. They’d ban it again.”

Obinna Ugwu chose to appreciate Nigerians, “FGN Not Tinubu negotiated the opening of flight routes between Nigeria and Dubai. A delegation of Nigerian Ministers funded by its citizens made this trip possible with Tax Payer funded expenses. We appreciate every citizen both home and abroad that worked hard to see these negotiations come to fruition. Long live Nigeria,” he said.

On Instagram, dayoogedengbe said, “I’m not a Tinubu fan oo, but good one on this! Anytime wey person do well, make we dey commend them. At the moment, he is the only president of Nigeria so I pray he succeeds and achieve greatness for Nigeria.”

On Facebook, Idris Ibrahim wrote, “Wow, this is awesome. I highly commend you for reaching such agreement. Most of which is for the benefit of the Nigeria Economy. I believe you can do better sir.
