Sir David Ologun on Wednesday, 18th October, 2023 took oath of office as the 6th Chairman of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN), Ondo State chapter.

Speaking shortly after the investiture, the new chairman, Sir Ologun assured that his team will embark on membership drive and consultation with Government Ministries, Department and Agencies on issues and policies as well as engage secondary school students on career talk among others.

Sir Ologun who said the association is in the best position to develop the manpower of the public service further noted that sanity will be enforced through member bodies on matters that bothers on ethical issues among members.

While also thanking members for reposing trust in his ability to serve, Sir Ologun further restated his commitment to excellent service.

Giving remarks on behalf of the Ondo State Governor, the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele assured the body of government’s commitment just as he admonished them to continue to give their best.

The event also featured a guest lecture by Dr. Mrs. P. T. Fadiran, FCA who spoke on the role of professional bodies beyond survival in tough times.

The climax however is the official oath taking ceremony for members of the new state executives.

Another major highlight is the presentation of awards of meritorious service to the Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese, Most Rev.d Dr. Jude Arogundade, the Odole of Akure kingdom, Sir Chief Biodun Adejo, the proprietor, Preston International School, Mr. Toyin Ajayi, and Major Gen. J. Omosebi (rtd) among other outstanding Nigerians for their excellent contributions to the development of the state and the nation at large.

In a chat with newsmen, the proprietor, Preston Int’l School, Mr. Ajayi while appreciating the body for the recognition said the award will spur him to do more for humanity.

He also assured Nigerians that he will continue to impact humanity in all ways possible.

Also speaking, the Odole of Akure kingdom, Sir Adejo expressed gratitude to the professional body for the honour.

In a separate remark, former PDP State Chairman, Dr. Omotayo Dairo while describing the new state chairman as a man capable of discharging the duties of his office, expressed confidence in his ability to take the association to the next level.

Earlier in his remarks, the National President ably represented by Prince Adeyinka implored the new state leadership to ensure that they move the association from where it is to a higher heights.
