The United States announces additional humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people
Yesterday, in El-Arish, Egypt, USAID Administrator Samantha Power announced that the United States, through USAID, will provide more than $21 million in additional humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza and the West Bank affected by the ongoing conflict, which has left approximately 2.2 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
That announcement builds on the $100 million in U.S. humanitarian assistance announced by President Biden on October 18.
Administrator Power made the announcement during remarks at Egypt’s El-Arish airport, alongside 36,000 pounds of United Nations food and nutrition assistance, medical supplies, and winter items airlifted from Jordan which will be further transported by ground to Gaza
