A socio-cultural Group, Akure Renaissance Movement ( ARM) has appreciated Dr. (Barrister) Olumuyiwa Adu aka Cubana for his impressive contributions to the growth and development of Akure kingdom.

Delivering the letter of Appreciation on Thursday, 4th January, 2024, the group Co-ordinator, Prince Adesoji Ademola ( Socrates) eulogized Dr Adu for his interventions in many developmental projects in the Akure community and human capacity building of its citizens.

He said ” Your activities in Akure have put smiles on the faces of so many people. You are representing our voice and interests everywhere and we shall continue to support you with our prayers.

” Sir, on a daily basis, we receive good news about your generosity and humility within and across our borders. We are very proud of you and your achievements”.

The group specifically appreciated Dr Adu for his huge financial commitment to the ongoing construction College of Medical Sciences of Federal University of Technology Akure ( FUTA).

Recall that during the foundation laying ceremony of the gigantic edifice recently, Dr Adu made an initial donation of 900 bags of cement to the Institution among other pledges.

The group also made mention of Dr Adu’s donation of 5 Million Naira during Ulefunta Festival which strongly showcased his love and passion for Akure culture and development.

Dr Adu’s sponsored ADU UNITY CUP featured young football Stars who have now been discovered by FIFA-licensed scouting football agencies. This will expose them to international tournaments that will pave ways for decent sources of livelihoods as professional footballers.

Dr Adu’s contributions that were equally listed for commendation included:
* Sponsorship of ‘Omo Iro’ Film produced by an Akure -born Nollywood Actress, Mrs Omolola Ogunleye Ayodele. This has brought the rich culture of famous Iro quarters in Akure to international attention and has equally increased the actress’ global estimation and patronage among the comity of movie stars .

* The purchase of musical instruments for 3 Akure- based musicians.

* Payment of education, health and overseas’ travelling expenses.

* Promotion of spiritual growth and tolerance within the community through his active involvement in religious activities and financial commitments during religious festivities among other numerous philanthropic gestures and social responsibilities which have attracted lots of goodwill amongst Ondo State people to the legal Luminary and World class Oil/Gas Consultant.

They prayed for long life and good health for the APC Chieftain as they registered their condolences on the demise of the late governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CFR.

Responding to this show of appreciation, Dr Adu thanked the group for their thoughtfulness and reiterated his readiness to do more this year.

He lectured the visiting group on the significance of giving and the spiritual implications of thanksgiving.

In his words: ” The more you give, the more you receive. That’s the key to God’s blessings and any position should be used to render selfless services to humanity”.

Dr Adu attributed all his accomplishments to the benevolence of Almighty God who dispenses mercy on His throne of Judgement. He preached against envy and dishonesty.

Reciprocating the gesture of the group in his characteristic manner, Dr Adu gave them gifts of turkeys, chickens, bags of rice and cash in continuation of the new year celebration.
