If we act now, the world can look toward an end to climate shocks that are increasing in frequency and devastation. Aiming to introduce a new approach to building resilience against this perpetual cycle, USAID Administrator Samantha Power recently announced $22.4 million to boost programs addressing climate change, including the Agency’s partnership with NASA. The funding will also help establish and expand partnerships with the private sector and universities already working on ways to bring an end to this era of repeating climate shocks. And we’ll soon announce details about a first-of-its-kind global summit on extreme heat.
